Winter/Autumn Fest is Almost Here!

This Saturday, November 25th from 12:30pm to 5:30pm, Seeds Center will be hosting its annual Winter/Autumn Festival at the Unity Community Center Chicago (1212 W Balmoral Ave, 60640 Chicago). Come join us for an afternoon of painting, cooking, jewelry-making, dancing, Qi gong, acupressure, complimentary food and beverage, as well as a silent auction and gifts bazaar! Tickets are only $5 for the event and are available on our Facebook event page ( or at the door.

The festival raises funds for our Free Intergenerational Program. This 8 week program pairs adults 55 years of age and older with youth under 19 to learn a new skill every week

Throughout the day, our instructors will be periodically hosting sampler classes available for $5 each. Tickets are limited, so arrive early! The class schedule is as follows:

Qi Gong:

Here, we'll learn to improve our health and prevent illness by harmonizing qi, the vital energy of life with Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese exercise Western physical therapists are now starting to recognize.

Mini Chinese Crepes - 3 ways

A form of “bing” in Mandarin, mini chinese crepes are not only simple and easy to make, but super versatile and oh so delicious! At this station you can learn to make them yourself!

Fall & Winter Painting

At this station, we will be painting fall and winter themed images on sheets of canvas that either could be displayed as is or placed in a 4x6 frame.

CUMBIA! 'Selena style'

The famous performing artist Selena is also known as the 'Queen of Cumbia'. We will be exploring the popular Latino dance type also known as cumbia which uses simple movements but can be highly stylized!

Here we'll be creating Key Charms (key chain) with acrylic beads and copper wire.
