1st Annual Spring Fundraiser
Learn More, Live More had our 1st annual fundraiser on April 14th. We were proud to start our exhibit in the Fine Arts Building as part of the Women in Art feature in light of women’s history month. We raised over $1400 and raffled off an amazing prize package worth over $350 featuring a $150 Target gift card, Chicago Craft & DIY gift certificate, and others. Funds will be used to provide for our upcoming intergenerational programming set to start this Fall, which aims to bring together Chicago seniors and at-risk youth for diverse learning experiences.
Thank you Target and Chicago Craft & DIY for your sponsorship! We would also like to thank many others, including 48th Ward – Community, Columbia College Alumni Association, Unity Lutheran Church in Chicago, Fine Arts Building, Universe, Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, Roosevelt University, Verlocal, Chicago Blog Week, Dabble, Alderman Pat Dowell - 3rd Ward, What About Chicago?, Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, all our volunteers, and more for their support!
We had over 100 attendees, an amazing chef, and 5 great artists. Chef Kim Callis prepared a tastefully simple menu of crispy shrimp cups, creamy mini quiches, sticky Sriracha honey glazed wings, refreshing tea sandwiches, deviled green eggs and ham and more. Thank you to Jewel, Target, and Trader Joe's for generously donating to the groceries and beverages helping make this possible!

Jahmilla Sims exhibited her unique handmade jewelry and photography. Jessica Wang showed off her exquisite calligraphy skills. Gloria I.
